SPOKANE, Wash. – The San Francisco State women's track team opened the indoor season at the Spokane Invitational, hosted by Spokane Sports. The meet featured athletes from over 20 colleges in the Pacific Northwest and California. Several fresh faces donned the purple and gold for the first time this season.
Amy Christensen had the top finish for the Gators. The pole vaulter cleared the bar ar 3.45m, the top mark in her event. She was edged out for first because she hit that mark on her second try. Christensen holds the school record in indoor pole vault with a mark of 3.69m.
A pair of Gators cracked the top ten in their first meet representing SF State.
Mattie Cecilio's triple jump of 11:49m ranks fifth all-time and was .02 from fourth. Freshman
Macaria Moore-Bastide had a strong debut in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.56m, good for a tie for fifth all-time.
