GOLDEN, Colo. — The San Francisco State wrestling team split a pair of duals on Friday afternoon. The Gators opened the tri-meet versus Fort Hays State and squeezed out a 25-19 victory. SF State dropped its second dual of the day, 30-9, to host Colorado Mines.
The Gators move to 2-2 in duals and 1-2 in RMAC action. Fort Hays falls to 0-2 while Colorado Mines moves to 2-0 in duals and 1-0 in RMAC action.

Zach Wright, returning for the first time since suffering a head laceration in his first bout of the season, came back with a vengenance and scored a tech fall over Rhett Koppes. The Gators jumped out to a big lead thanks to
Andre Dargani (141 lb.),
Joshua Fuentes Norikiyo (149 lb.),
Josh Tolentino (157 lb.), and
Boltyn Taam (165 lb.). The Gators led 19-9 but saw their lead disolve as the Tigers answered with a decision, fall, and major decision to tie the dual 19-19 headed into the heavyweight bout.
Emilio Franco Sandoval won it for the Gators with his fall at the 5:35 mark.
The Gators didn't fare as well in their matchup with the host Orediggers, falling 30-9. The Gators trailed 9-6 after four bouts but a pair of major decisions paved the way for Mines, and the Orediggers put things out of reach by taking the final three bouts.Tony Margiotta (133 lb.), Fuentes Norikiyo (149 lb.), and Gage Mettler all scored decisions in the loss for the Gators. Margiotta is now 9-5 on the season while Fuentes Norikiyo improves to 6-1.
SF State heads to Nebraska for the toughest stretch of the Gators' schedule. On Sunday, December 4, SF State will take on RV Chadron State, No. 8 Augustana, and No. 1 St. Cloud State. Stats will be available at
