RIVERSIDE, Calf. — The San Francisco State wrestling team picked up its first dual win of the season on Saturday, 27-12 over Life Pacific. The Gators also dropped a 56-0 decision to host California Baptist at Van Dyne Gym.

Gage Mettler bumped up to heavyweight and ended the bout on a high note with his major decision.
After the scheduled 157 match, the Gators took time to honor their three seniors.
McKinney is in his first year with the Gators but has made an instant impact and quickly become a leader. A native of Torrance, he is majoring in Cinema.
Mason Boutain, who is currently injured, has wrestled at both 149 and 157 pounds for the Gators. The Benicia native redshirted in 2016-17, then burst onto the scene in 2017-18 with a 22-13 record. He was named to the All-RMAC First Team and was the RMAC champion at 157 pounds that season. He wrestled at 149 pounds in 2019-20 and was named to the All-RMAC First Team yet again and was ranked as high as No. 5 nationally. A three-time RMAC Honor Roll awardee, Boutain is majoring in Nursing.
Mazroy has been with the program all four years and has been a leader on and off the mat. He has been actively involved as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The San Diego native is majoring in philosophy but is passionate about real estate and is working towards a real estate license.
"Despite the final score, I feel like we had a solid effort today," said Head Coach
Jason Welch. "It was amazing to have a home match again and some excitement and sense of normalcy with hosting a home match. We're in a good spot heading into Regionals and are ready to peak for that opportunity."
The Gators set their sights on the NCAA Regionals on Saturday, February 26 in Grand Junction, Colorado. This year's event is hosted by Colorado Mesa.
