SAN FRANCISCO -
Gary Grosjean of the San Francisco State baseball team was named the CCAA Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the Conference Monday afternoon. He becomes the first Gator to earn the conference weekly honor since Matthew Hernandez won in for the week of Feb. 12-18 in 2018.
In his first career start as a Gator, Grosjean threw eight strikeouts through 6.1 innings of work. He only gave up three hits and one run in a 5-1 win for the Gators.
The pitcher from Truckee, who spent his freshman season at Mendocino College, retired the first nine batters he faced and in 22 at bats, UCCS batted just .136 against him.
SF State won the series 3-1 over UC Colorado Springs. They hit the road this weekend for a four-game series with CSU Pueblo. First game to start on February 18.
