Joshua Fuentes Norikiyo holds steady at No. 5 in the 141-pound weight class in the fourth NWCA 2021-22 Division II Regular Season Coaches Rankings of the season, the last of the regular season. As a team, the Gators slipped from No. 24 in the team rankings but are still receiving votes.
Fuentes Norikiyo returned from injury to win by fall over Menlo's Logan Avina-Barajas on February 10. This season, he placed fourth at the 42nd Midwest Classic hosted by UIndy, which included an overtime victory over then-No. 2 Christian Small of King. The senior from Laguna Hills also had notable wins by fall over CSU Pueblo's Devin Lueck and a 5-4 victory over then-No. 15 Colorado Mesa's Erik Contreras.
The Gators are headed to Grand Junction, Colorado for the NCAA Regionals on Saturday, February 26 in. This year's event is hosted by Colorado Mesa.
