LOUISVILLE, Ky. — San Francisco State center fielder Brylynn Vallejos is among the fifty student-athletes from across the country who were revealed as part of the 2022 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player and Pitcher of the Year awards list.

This is the second time Vallejos has landed ont the list, having landed on the list in 2020 prior to that season being cut short from the pandemic. This season, Vallejos has twice been named CCAA Player of the Week this season and has also been listed among the NFCA's selected weekly top performances. The sophomore from Reno leads the CCAA runs per game (1.31), runs scored (42), total bases (77), on-base percentage (.496), and OPS (1.209). She is second in total hits (47), batting average (.435), slugging percentage (.713), and total stolen bases (26). She has reached base safely in 27 of 28 games.

In 2020, Vallejos was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team. As a freshman in 2019, she was named a finalist for National Player of the Year and National Freshman of the Year and earned NFCA All-West Region First Team honors, D2 CCA All-West Region First Team honors, and was the CCAA Freshman of the Year and an All-CCAA First Team selection.
 
The Gators next head to the Tournament of Champions, presented by Mizuno and hosted by Stanislaus State, Friday to Sunday, April 1-3. The Gators take on Central Washington and Hawaii Pacific on Friday, Holy Names and Simon Fraser on Saturday, and wrap up the weekend on Sunday versus Hawai'i Hilo.
