WTRK | Gators Compete in Mike Fanelli Classic

SAN FRANCISCO  – The San Francisco State women's track and field team raced in the Mike Fanelli Classic at Cox Stadium. The event featured athletes from around the country as over 60 universities had athletes competing over the course of three days.

On Thursday, the Gators competed in the 10000 Meter and 300 Meter Steeplechase. In her first time racing in the event, Daisy Salinas set a top ten time in the steeple chase with a time of 11:43.31.

Friday featured the 1500 Meter and 4x400 relay. Katya Candray shaved off nearly five seconds from her time two weeks ago to cross the finish line at 4:56.14.

The jumpers dominated the competition on Saturday. Gators took four of the five top finishes in the long jump with Nyah Paulding leading the way with a 5.44m mark. Dezirae Smith placed first in the triple jump with a 11.51m mark.
