SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco State men's track and field team raced in the Johnny Mathis Invitational at Cox Stadium. The rain stopped right before the meet began, giving the Gators a clear, but chilly day of competition. The men finished in fifth with 34 points.
A trio of distance runners had some fun Friday and competed in the Javelin.
Parker Smith put together an impressive throw in his first time competing in the event and finished with a 34.61m mark.
Bailey Williams shaved over two seconds off his 5000 meter time to finish with a time of 15:12.72 to place seventh.
Gary Valle lead a trio of Gators that had CCAA Championship qualifying times in the 1500 meter. He placed 12th with a time of 4:04.31.
During the meet, the Gators honored seniors Jacob Niles, Alex Tait, Michael Kilagariff and Lucas Vigil.
