Box Score 2 HAYWARD, Calif. — The San Francisco State softball team dropped the final two games of the series at Cal State East Bay on Monday, 3-2 and 2-1, at Pioneer Softball Field.
- With the two games, SF State slips to 17-28 overall and 8-20 in CCAA play while Cal State East Bay moves to 22-20 overall and 13-15 in conference action. The Gators now find themselves looking from the outside in for a spot in the CCAA Tournament as the Pioneers hold a five-game lead with eight games to play.
- Brylynn Vallejos hit her eighth home run of the season and the 15th of her career in game two. That moves Vallejos past Kelsey Wood (2008-11) and into a tie with Kendra Wood (2008-11) for No. 6 on the program's all-time leader list. Vallejos' eight homers are also tied for sixth-most by a Gator in a single season.
- The Gators turned their 26th double play of the season, which is tied for the most double plays turned in NCAA Division II.
- Monday's games were originally scheduled for Saturday but were postponed due to inclement weather.
- Statistics for game one of the doubleheader were not immediately available.
GAME ONE
- Vallejos led the game off with an infield single and the Gators quickly took a 2-0 lead when Lehua DeLeon sent the first pitch she saw for her second home run of the season.
- The Pioneers took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out double.
GAME TWO
- Vallejos put the Gators up 1-0 with a solo shot in the third inning.
- With runners on the corners in the third, Senena Cadena hit into a double play but it scored Venessa Nguyen from third to tie the game at 1-1.
- The Pioneers took the lead for good in the sixth thanks to a Gators error.
- Madeline Eshbach (2-4) took the tough loss despite only allowing one earned run in a complete-game effort.
- Anamaria Beard (10-8) struck out three en route to the complete-game victory for the Pioneers.
The Gators host last-place Humboldt State (13-32/6-22 CCAA) in the Gators final home series of the season on Friday and Saturday, April 22-23. First pitch of Friday's doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader is slated to begin at 11 a.m. and will be preceded by a Senior Day ceremony honoring the team's seniors.
