SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State baseball team fell 4-0 in the series opener with Stanislaus state. The offense could not get enough going at the plate and had nine runners left on base.
- SF State falls to 14-23 and 9-20 in CCAA action while Stanislaus State improves to 11-26 and 9-23 in the CCAA.
- The Gators matched a season high four HBP from the pitching staff with all coming from Jordyn Eglite.
- Sammy Gonzales went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double.
- The Gators had six walks on the day with Kyler Crone walking twice.
- Michael Cunningham stole his first career base.
Pitching miscues in the first the Warriors in scoring. Trevor McInerney was hit by a pitch to advance a runner to second. A double from Jonluke Goldman allow the first Warriors runner to score. The Warriors registered three hits in the second to bring their second run of the day on the board in the second inning. In the bottom of the inning, the Gators loaded the bases up with one out, but
Nicholas Hughes hit into a double play to end the inning. A fielding error helped plate two more in the fourth inning. While the Gator defense held the Warriors scoreless the rest of the way, the Gators only managed one more hit through the follow five innings.
- Jordyn Eglite went six innings in the loss, giving up eight hits, two earned runs and a pair of walks while throwing six strikeouts.
- Andrew Silva and Justice Naraghi came in relief, each giving up one hit and threw a strikeout while not allowing a run.
- Anthony Ramirez pitched a complete game shut-out for the Warriors in the win.
