COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Francisco State wrestler
Mason Boutain has been named to the 2021-22 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestling Academic All-Academic First Team. Teams are voted on by the league's sports information directors and sports information directors are not permitted to vote for their student-athletes.
A Nursing major, Boutain sports a 3.48 GPA. He wraps up his career after six seasons as a Gator, having earned a trip to the NCAA Division II National Championships this season as a redshirt senior. The Benicia native first redshirted in 2016-17, then burst onto the scene with a 22-13 record. That season, he was named RMAC Champion at 157 pounds and and earned All-RMAC First Team honors. In 2018-19, injuries limited Boutain to a 10-5 record. In 2019-20, Boutain was ranked No. 5 in the nation at 149 pounds and was an All-RMAC First Team selection, finishing fourth at Regionals. This season, Boutain was ranked as high as No. 8 in the nation at 157 lb. and finished in third place at Regionals and punched his ticket to St. Louis with a 3-1 overtime victory.

Tony Margiotta (Finance major, 3.61 GPA), senior
Stefano McKinney (Cinema major, 3.48 GPA), and sophomore
Marco Ruffinelli (Computer Science major, 3.93 GPA).
To qualify for RMAC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA through the most recently completed term. Qualifiers must also have been a student at their respective institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters and must use a season of competition.
