SPOKANE, Wash. – The San Francisco State women's track and field team competed at the Inland Northwest Invitational, hosted by Whitworth University. The Gators raced at the Podium, the facilities they competed at for their first meet of the season.
Dezirae Smith had a season best mark of 11.11m in the triple jump and placed second, only .02m off of taking first. She placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.05, only .02m behind teammate
Evelyn Contreras.
Amy Christensen had a season best in the Pole Vault and cleared 3.51m to place fourth.
Lamiah George had another strong meet for the Gators. She ran the 60m preliminary heat in 7.92 to make finals. During the finals, she matched her time from a weekend ago and placed fourth with a time of 7.88

"I was really impressed with out mental toughness," stated Head Coach
David Thompson. "We had a number of season bests in the sprints, jumps and hurdles this weekend. What's exciting is that you can see the confidence in everyone starting to grow each week"
The Gators will have next weekend off before traveling to Michigan for the Grand Valley State Big Meet on February 10 and 11.
