CARSON, Calif. — The San Francisco State men's soccer team earned a point in conference standing with a 2-2 tie against Cal State Dominguez Hills at Toros Stadium. After the Toros scored a couple of quick goals to start the second half, the Gators came back to score a pair of their own.
- The Gators record stands at 2-4-2 and 0-1-1 in conference while the Toros sit at 3-2-3 and 0-1-1 in conference.
- Issay Bravo and Jairo Fernandez each score their first career goals as Gators. Julio Gonzalez Ponce had his first assist of the season.
- The Toros outshot the Gators 22-14.
- SF State drew a season high four yellow cards and was called for 20 fouls compared to the Toros' 18.
After a scoreless first half, the Toros' Diego Barahona took a shot from 35 yards out and found the back of the net to strike first in the 48th minute. less than two minutes later, the Toros scored again. In the 78th minute, the Gators had a corner kick opportunity. The ball was headed several times in a crowded box before Bravo slid the ball through traffic to score. A minute later, the Gators had another corner kick. The kick was passed to Ponce in the corner and Ponce launched the ball in the box for Fernandez to score. A yellow card on the Gators outside the box with 10 seconds left gave the Toros a chance to score but they were unable to capitilize and the match ended in a tie.
Mario De La Torre (1-3-2) made six saves in the tie. Arturo Magana had five saves for the Toros.
