How It Happened

SF State battled in the first half, including three nice saves from Fernando Escobedo Guzman, one of which came in the opening minute. The Gators played to a scoreless half and added another twenty minutes of scoreless soccer. Escobedo Guzman made another stop in the 65th minute but a Gators foul in the box in the 66th minute set up the first of two Broncos penalty kicks. Jasper Winslow finished to his left to make it 1-0, then the Gators were whistled for another foul in the box in the 68th minute and Winslow added his second goal of the day. SF State nearly answered with a goal in the 69th minute but Julio Gonzalez Ponce's shot hit the crossbar.
