SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State women's basketball team took down Pacific Union 95-51 in their first home contest of the season. The Gators broke a single game record with 40 field goals made en route to victory.
- The Gators improve to 1-3 while Pacific Union remains winless at 0-4.
- Three Gators scored in double-digits: Alexsandra Alvarado (24), Sage Bridges-Bey (15) and Perséas Gioukaris (14)
- SF State shot 53.3 percent from the field, sixth best in a single game in school history.
- Gioukaris had a team-high five steals. The Gators finished with 17 steals and limited to Pacific Union to four.
- The Gators turned the ball over nine times while Pacific Union had 22 turnovers.
A 7-0 start got the Gators on the right track early on and led them to a 22-10 lead after one frame.
Alexsandra Alvarado scored 11 points to lead the offensive effort and went 4-for-6 from the field in the first quarter. A three-point basket in the second quarter cut the lead to six but
Talia Garner instantly responded with the Gators' first three of the game to put SF State up 27-18. The Gators limited Pacific Union to one basket the rest of the quarter and went into halftime up 46-28.
The Gators kept their foot on the pedal in the second half. SF State scored the first 13 points in the third quarter before a lay-up from Pacific Union got them on the board with 5:36 left in the quarter. SF State limited Pacific Union to ten points while scoring 28 to expand their lead and make a comeback unattainable in the fourth quarter.
