MONMOUTH, Ore. – The San Francisco State men's cross country team concluded its 2023 season at Western Regionals at the Ash Creek Preserve. The Gators, who ran a 10k race at regionals, finished 20th out of 23 teams.
Jose Melchor finished the season with another strong run to lead the Gators with a top-50 finish. He crossed the finish line with a time of 32:02.7 to place 44th. The Gators have had athletes place in the top-50 at West Regionals back-to-back seasons.
Joey Manahan and
Jose Torres both placed in the top 100 to conclude their seasons. Manahan placed 85th and Torres came in 96th with times of 33:03.7 and 33:19.4 respectively. Rounding out the Gators' top five were
Dominic Clima and
Brandon Johnson, who finished in 126th and 134th. The spread between Gator point scorers was 180 seconds.
Chico State, who won the CCAA Championships, placed first at Regionals.
