BOSTON – The San Francisco State women's track & field team sent four athletes to the Boston University Last Chance Invitational, in hopes of improving their marks to earn a chance to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Amy Christensen won the pole vault, recording a season best 3.66m in the process. The mark is .03 off from her personal best and .02 from a provisional mark.
Macaria Moore-Bastide placed second in the high jump and jumped 1.68m, .05 off from her personal best recorded earlier this season.
Mattie Cecilio had a successful day at the triple jump and jumped for an indoor best of 11.86m for a third place finish and a provisional mark.
Dezirae Smith also competed and jumped for 10.84m.
The Gators will find out Tuesday, February 28 who will be competing at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Champions. Nationals will take place March 10-11 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. For the rest of the team, outdoor competition begins this week. The distance runners will compete at the West Coast Twilight hosted by Chabot College on March 3 while the rest of the team will travel to the Kim Duyst Invitational. March 3-4.
