VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia -
Macaria Moore-Bastide of the San Francisco State's women track & field team capped off the Indoor season with a new title next to her name: All-American.
Â
She took eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.72m at the NCAA Championship at the Virginia Beach Sports Center and became the Gators first All-American since 2019. She is the first high jumper to earn All-American status since school record holder Tiana Wells did it in 2014.
Moore-Bastide started strong on the day, clearing 1.64m and 1.69m on the first attempt. She was able to clear 1.72m on her second attempt, but ended her day trying to clear 1.75m. The 1.72m she jumped was only .01m off from her season best set earlier in the season. Only a freshman, Moore-Bastide already has jumped the third highest mark in the high jump for indoor track in school history. She will look to make some noise as her attention shifts to outdoor.Â
