SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco State men's track & field team got to race on their home turf for the first time this season, hosting USF, Saint Mary's and Santa Clara at Cox Stadium. The weather mostly cooperated for the meet, sporadically drizzling and light wind playing a factor throughout the day. With 98 points, the Gators scored the most points of any school at the meet.
The men swept the first four spots of the 5000m with
Ben Heagler leading the pack with a time of 16:07.48.
Erik Carlson was not far behind him to finish second with a time of 16:09.26.
Evan Jackson was .08 seconds off of breaking two minutes in the 800 meter, finishing with a time of 2:00.07.
Kyle Botelho saw his times improve in the 100m and 200m, placing third and first respectively.
