SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco State women's track & field student-athlete
Macaria Moore-Bastide was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Field Athlete of the Week, for the week of March 13-19.
Moore-Bastide becomes the first Gator to earn conference honors since the 2019 season.
Making her collegiate debut in outdoor track, the rookie from San Diego placed third in the high jump at the Stanford Cardinal Classic in Palo Alto. Moore-Bastide was the top Division II finisher with a clearance of 1.70 meters (5-foot-7). The NCAA provisional qualifying mark also ranks her atop of the Division II performance list.
The freshman was coming off her NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship debut. She was eighth (1.72m) in the high jump to earn All-American honors.
The Gators will be back in action in two weeks, hosting the Mike Fanelli Track Classic at Cox Stadium, March 30-April 1. Those who meet the qualifying standards will compete in the prestigious Stanford Invitational on April 1.
