TURLOCK, Calif. – The San Francisco State women's track & field team opened up the outdoor season this past weekend. The distance runners took part in the West Coast Twilight Invitational hosted by Chabot College. The rest of the team competed at the Kim Duyst Invitational hosted by Stanislaus State.
Essence Jackson recorded a personal best score in the triple jump with a mark of 11.36m. She also came in fourth in the long jump and jumped 5.04m.
Sabrina Carle-Parra finished runner up in the high jump with a 1.47m jump.
Amy Christensen was the third Gator to place second in their respective event, clearing 3.50m on the pole vault.
Katy O'Brien had a strong outdoor debut, running the 100m hurdle in 16.10 seconds to place fifth.
Anika Pettinger was the highlight for the distance runners and placed eighth with a time of 10:22.96.

The Gators will be in full force next weekend.
Macaria Moore-Bastide will make her NCAA Championship debut March 10 at the Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach. The distance runners will be at home for the WCCAA meet on March 11. The rest of the team will compete at the Aggie Open on March 10-11 hosted by UC Davis.
