SAN FRANCISCO – After another conference series win, the San Francisco State baseball team was ranked sixth in the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association week nine West Region poll. The team's highest ranking this season came during week three when they ranked fifth.
The Gators are currently ranked fourth in the CCAA, behind Cal State San Bernardino (first in the west), Cal State Monterey Bay (second in the west) and a half game behind Cal Poly Pomona (fifth in the west). With selection Sunday coming on May 14, the Gators look to continue their positive momentum and solidify their chances of hearing their name called for Western Regionals. Six teams from the West Region make Regionals.
SF State has a busy and crucial week of games coming up. The Gators make up a pair of games against Chico State on Tuesday, April 11 at 3 p.m. and Wednesday, April 12 at noon. They hit the road for a four-game series against Stanislaus State starting Friday, April 14 at 6 p.m. Both teams are currently in the top ten in the latest West Region poll.
