MANHEIM, Pa. — Eight San Francisco State wrestlers have been named to the 2022-23 National Wrestling Coaches Association Division II Scholar All-America Team.

The Gators were represented by Andre Dargani, Joshua Fuentes Norikiyo, Laith Gilmore, Tony Margiotta, Gage Mettler, Marco Ruffinelli, Conrado Trevino-Oceguera, and Sean Yamasaki.

A total of 321 individuals from 57 programs were recognized. The RMAC comprises nearly 15 percent of the NWCA's individual Scholar All-Americans with San Francisco State and Colorado Mesa leading the way with eight selections apiece.

To be nominated to the NWCA Division II Scholar All-American Team, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships and a 3.00 GPA for those who were All-Americans at the 2023 Nationals. Wrestlers must have competed in four dates of competition.
