SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The San Francisco women's track & field team opened day one of the CCAA Championships on Thursday, May 4 at Mangrum Track and Field on the campus of Cal State San Marcos. Day one featured multi athletes Madison Algarin and Lauren George competing in their first four events of the heptathlon.

After four events, George sits in eighth with 2240 points and Algarin in eleventh with 2020. A strong third place finish in the 200m (26.29 seconds) for George helped earn her 772 points while Algarin earned 702 points after crossing the finish line in 27.12 seconds. Tomorrow the pair will wrap up the heptathlon with the high jump, javelin and 800m.
