HONOLULU — The San Francisco State men's soccer team fell on the road to Hawaii Pacific 3-0. The Gators held the Sharks scoreless through the first half but were unable to get enough going offensively and fell behind in the second half.
- The Gators fall to 1-1 on the season while Hawaii Pacific improves to 1-1-1.
- The Sharks were selected to finish sixth in the Pac West Conference.
- The Sharks took six corner kicks while the Gators had zero.
- Hawaii Pacific outshot the Gators 10-6 with both teams making three shots on target.
- Georgi Stoyanov and Jairo Fernandez each had two shots.
After a scoreless first half, Hawaii Pacific broke the ice in the 51st when they placed the ball in the lower left side of the net. They would add another goal six minutes later. The Sharks added an insurance goal in the 86th minute of the game. The Gators had an opportunity to get on the board in the final minute of the game with a penalty kick. Stoyanov took the kick but it was blocked by the keeper.
Fernando Escobedo Guzman (0-1) played all 90 minutes in goal and did not record a save. Connor Margo made three saves and earned a clean sheet for Hawaii Pacific.
