ATHERTON, Calif. - The San Francisco State wrestling team kicked off the 2024-25 season on Saturday at the Menlo Invite. Six Gators placed fourth or better on Saturday, with Kydyn Lima leading the way at 174 lb. with a first-place finish.

Felipe De Matos placed second in 285 lbs. while Zane Stoddard (157 lb.) took third. Kyle Botelho (165 lb.), Laith Gilmore (285 lb.) and Zach Wright (125 lb.) each finished fourth in their respective weight classes. Andre Dargani (141 lb.) and Kweli Hernandez-Maitre (184 lb.) both took sixth.

SF State tallied 287 match points during the meet, the second-most of any team in the field of 12 institutions, and had the third highest winning percentage (.608) after going 31-20. Utah Valley went 70-21 (.769) and Stanford went 19-7 (.731) to pace the field.
