SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State women's basketball team defeated Jessup University, 62-50 on Friday in SF State's home opener.

- The Gators move to 2-3 on the year while Jessup falls to 2-3.
- Alexsandra Alvarado and Nyana Asiasi each had 15 points to lead all players. Sage Bridges-Bey added 12 points with four rebounds and a team-high three assists.
- Asiasi went 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) from three-point range, the most triples by a Gator this season. She also led all players with seven boards.
- The Gators assisted on 13 baskets, nine of which were on three-pointers. SF State had a season-best 10 total three-pointers in the contest.
- SF State won the turnover battle, 24-18, and had 23 points off turnovers.
Jaden Roan hit a driving layup to get SF State on the board, and Bridges-Bey hit consecutive three-pointers as the Gators lead 8-1 early. The Gators continued to roll with four layups in the final five minutes, while the defense held the Warriors to just eight points in the first quarter on 2-of-6 (33.3 percent) shooting to carry a 16-8 lead after one.
Jessup made it a three-point game following seven-straight points in the second quarter. Asiasi made a three-pointer off an assist from Caleigh Adams with 5:25 left in the half, but the Warriors utilized another 7-0 run to go up 22-21 before Perséas Gioukaris made a layup to regain the lead, 23-22 going into the break.
Bridges-Bey made two free throws to start the second half, and Asiasi made another three as SF State now lead by five. Kali Myers joined the three-point party with her first of the night with just over two minutes left, giving the Gators a 38-28 advantage.
Asiasi nailed a corner triple off a dish from Bradley to begin the fourth quarter and force a Warrior timeout. Adams continued the scoring with a three-pointer from the right side off an assist from Bridges-Bey, SF State's fifth three-pointer in its last six attempts to go up 49-33. The Warriors later went on an 8-2 run to cut it to 12, and later made it an 11-point game at 54-43 following Jacklyn Kulow's layup. Alvarado knocked down a clutch free throw with 1:33 left to put the Gators back up by ten, and the defense did the rest to close out the home-opening win.
