MSOC | Season Ends in Seaside

The Otters got on the board in the 18th minute when an initial shot off the foot of Ronaldo Guardarrama was blocked by a Gator defender, but the rebound found Kane Ritchie who punched it past Kaneko. Kaneko made a great stop midway through the first half as he closed in on a breakaway attempt to keep the Otters from adding to their lead.</p> <p>Hugo Vargas-Rios made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute on a breakaway, receiving the pass from Mason Ward and dribbling it past Kaneko for the goal. It became 3-0 in the 25th on Ward's goal following a corner kick, and the hosts made it a 4-0 advantage in the 40th when Kaneko made the save on Ward's shot, but the rebound found Will Seargeant who buried it to the back of the net. The Otters got a penalty kick in the 43rd, and Janos Kommerling went top-right shelf for the 5-0 lead.</p> <p>The scoring continued in the 48th with Daniel Perez's goal to the left off an assist from Ward, his third of the day. Bravo got SF State on the board on a left-footed strike from outside the center of the box, firing it to the lower-left corner to cut it to 6-1. Blickenstaff (4-0-3) had two saves in 75 minutes, and Sean Mattivi played 15 minutes in relief and made one save.</p>
