SB | Kai DeLeon Collects CCAA Softball Player of the Week Honors

SAN FRANCISCO — For the second time in her career, San Francisco State softball player Kai DeLeon has been named the CCAA Player of the Week after putting up outstanding numbers at the Cactus Classic held in Tucson, Arizona.

The junior middle infielder hit .500 (6-for-12) with a .625 on-base percentage. She walked four times, scored five runs and stole six bases. She posted a run in all four games.

Her highlight performances came in the opener and the finale. Against Minnesotat State Moorhead, she went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a stolen base. She had four stolen bases in the finale against Adams State, scoring twice.

DeLeon is sixth in the CCAA in batting average (.458), and second in runs (seven) and on-base percentage (.567).

DeLeon's first CCAA Player of the Week award came two weeks into her freshman season in 2022. This is the first for SF State since Brynn Vallejos won twice in 2022.

San Francisco State will open CCAA play on Friday, February 16 with a four-game series at Cal State San Bernardino.
