SAN FRANCISCO — David Eichhorn of the San Francisco State baseball team was named the CCAA Pitcher of the Week for his complete game performance in a win over No. 11 Cal State San Bernardino. Eichhorn is the first Gator to earn Pitcher of the Week honors since the 2022 season.

His performance helped secure a 3-1 series win. He allowed just five singles and yielded an unearned run in SF State's 4-1 win. Eichhorn struck out eight batters and walked just one in the gem. The junior right-hander from Aptos walked the leadoff batter and sat the next 11 Coyotes in order before allowing a single to start the fifth inning. That runner ended up scoring with two outs on a throwing error by an infielder. Eichhorn also got out of a two-on, one out situation in the sixth inning. 

The complete game performance was the first by any Gator since Feb. 21, 2020 when Jack Higgins threw a complete game shutout over Cal State San Marcos.
