DAVIS, Calif. The San Francisco State women's track and field team opened up the outdoor season on Saturday. The distance runners traveled to the Occidental Distance Carnival while the rest of the team competed at the Aggie Open.
Daisy Salinas raced in her first Steeplechase of the season and placed fourth with a time of 11:46.51 to lead the distance runners at Oxy.
Anika Pettinger ran in a 5000m race that featured 110 athletes and placed 30th with a time of 18:20.56.
Mattie Cecilio won the triple jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 12.20m. The mark is currently the top mark in the NCAA in the young season.
Zharia Dixon and
Sanaia Woods gave the Gators a one-two punch in the 100m and crossed the line in 12.31 and 12.33 respectively.
Janice Conley,
Mina Tsai and Jaden Nizon also placed in the top ten and finished seventh, eighth and ninth.
