SAN MARCOS Calif. - The San Francisco State men's cross country team traveled south to race at the Cougar Challenge, hosted by Cal State San Marcos. The Gators kicked the race off early in the morning in overcast weather. SF State finished ninth out of 13 teams.

For the first time in his Gator career, Dominic Clima was the first Gator to cross the finish line, placing 52nd with a time of 25.51.6. Jesus Aguilar, who was the top finisher for the Gators two weeks ago, finished second and crossed the line in 26:10.6.

The Gators host their annual home meet in Golden Gate Park on October 11. The SF State Invitational will take place at 4:15 p.m. at the Speedway meadows. After the meet, the Gators will honor senior Brandon Johnson.
