ATHERTON, Calif. — The San Francisco State wrestling team competed in the inaugural Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Tournament, hosted by Menlo College. The Gators placed seven wrestlers in the top two and finished second with 140.5 points, just two points behind Menlo College. 

Zach Wright won the first title of the day in the 133lb with a major decision over Menlo College's Noah Messman. Johnny Lopez won a tight battle 2-1 in the 141lb thanks to holding the advantage on riding time. Zane Stoddard fell in the 157lb championship dual to Menlo's Ezekiel Lara.

Kyle Botelho had a dominant performance in his dual with Cal Poly Humbolt's Cole Zoller and won the 165lb 14-3. After pinning his opponent in the semifinals in 49 seconds, Kydyn Lima pinned Menlo College's Carson Howell in 2:27 to take hom the 174lb title. Laith Gilmore fell in a close dual to Cal Poly Humboldt's Carson Hatch 4-1.
