Kylie Tone of San Francisco State has claimed the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award, for the week of Oct. 6-12.
Tone was outstanding in her performance with a season-high 11 saves on Friday at Cal State San Marcos as the Gators earned their first win of the season in a 2-1 victory. Tone, who had seven of her saves in the second half, held the Cougars at bay until the 75th minute.
In Sunday's clean sheet versus Cal Poly Humboldt, the senior goalkeeper from Huntington Beach, Calif., picked up eight more saves in a scoreless draw. She saved a Humboldt penalty kick in the 72nd minute to keep the match scoreless. In all, Tone faced a total of 39 shots and recorded 19 saves with a shutout.
Tone ranks first in the CCAA with 5.14 saves per match and is fourth in saves percentage (.837). Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders
