SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State wrestling team was ranked 20th in Division II in the National Wrestling Coaches Associations' preseason poll. Johnny Lopez checked in as the top wrestler at 141lbs while Kyle Botelho was ranked ninth at 165lbs.

Lopez is coming off a National Championship at 141lbs. He was named the MPSF Wrestler of the Year and NWCA Super Region 6 Wrestler of the Year. Botelho has punched a ticket to Nationals the past two seasons and was the MPSF Champion at 165lbs. The team placed 21st at Nationals last season.

The Gators' season kicks off at the Menlo Invite on November 1. They host Western Colorado for their first home dual meet on November 8 at 12:30 pm.
