SAN FRANCISCO - This past weekend, San Francisco State Wrestler and Co-SAAC President
Brayden Concepcion represented the Gators at the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum. Across the four-day program held Thursday through Sunday in the Dallas, Texas area, 245 student-athletes, administrators and coaches all embarked on a journey to learn more about navigating the ever-changing tides of leadership.
This year's program theme, "Adjust Your Sails," aimed to equip student-athletes with leadership skills and empower them to take on greater responsibilities and apply the lessons learned when they are on campus and out in the world.
"This experience was really eye-opening and fun to be apart of," stated Concepcion. "Having a bunch of student-athletes who want to be there, led to a lot of engagement and everyone's ideas shared. My group created a space where I felt open to share my thoughts and ideas. I had the opportunity to network with student-athletes from all over the country, and learn about what is working at their schools. Overall, I thought SALF was a good way to find my strengths and values and how I can use that to be a better person and leader."
