SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State wrestling team wrestled in its first home dual meet of the season, falling to Western Colorado 27-13.
After dropping the first four matches, the Gators looked prime to take one with Basil Othman at 157lbs. Othman held the lead heading into the third period but saw it slip away and fell 14-9. Xander Erolin picked up an early lead in his match and was able to hold on for a 10-9 win at 165lbs. Josiah Hurd picked up a 12-4 major decision for his first career dual meet win. Nathan Glass closed out the day at heavyweight and pinned his opponent in 2:23. It marked the third fall he's recorded in the short season.

"A tough match to let slip by us against Western, but we had some big highlights such as first career dual meet wins for Josiah Hurd and Nathan Glass," stated Head Coach Jason Welch. "We also had some great moments as a community, as we came together for the Jensen family Dual Meet. National champion Mauricio Wright gave an amazing speech about Coach Lars Jensen and his legacy. We also honored our first year alumni with framed singlets. It was great to have them back on campus to honor them and their time at SF State."
SF State returns home November 12 to host the Allan Abraham Duals. They start at 6 pm with Skyline College and continue at 7:30 pm with Menlo Live stats will be available on TrackWrestling.com.
