RENO, Nev. - The San Francisco State wrestling team competed at the Reno Tournament of Champions before departing for winter break. The Gators had three wrestlers place in the top six of their weight classes: Zane Stoddard at fourth, Basil Othman at fifth and Zach Wright at sixth.

Stoddard won three straight matches to make it to the semifinals. He pinned his first two opponents and picked up an impress 4-1 decision over Division I Bradan Priest of Cal Baptist. Stoddard fell in the semifinal round due to medical decision and would forfeit the third place match.

Wright opened the day with a tech fall but dropped the following match. He battled to win the next three by the slimmest of margins. He went to overtime with Caleb MceIroy and secured a takedown to get the win. Wright would win the next two matches by one point.

Othman pinned his first opponent only to be pinned the next match. He was dominate in the next two matches, winning both by major decision by a combined score of 19-0. After beating his third straight opponent 9-7, Othman would secure fifth with a pair of no contest victories.

Kevin Clements Jr. was pinned in his first match but pinned the next three opponents. Clements had a chance to wrestle in the fifth place round but his opponent recorded a takedown to advance in the bracket.
