Daniel Murillo earned his first NCBWA Division II West Region Player of the Week honor. He is the second Gator this season to earn weekly regional recognition after
David Eichhorn did on March 11.
Murillo hit .500 (10-20) with a double, three home runs, six RBI, and 10 runs scored. He helped the Gators take three of four games at Stanislaus State, remaining just three games back of first place in the CCAA. The senior infielder posted a .545 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage over 22 plate appearances. In the opener, Murillo went 3-for-4 with three runs scored in an 18-0 win. He returned on Saturday to go 5-for-6 in the first game of the doubleheader. He had a double, a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored. Murillo would cross the plate four times in the finale as SFSU took the series with a 20-7 win. He finished the game 4-of-5 with two home runs and three RBI.
