SAN FRANCISCO - Five San Francisco State softball players were named to the 2025 Academic All-District® Softball team.
Kai DeLeon,
Rylee McDaniel,
Marley Gonzales,
Daniella Guerrera and
Kira Nilson were all recognized for their accomplishments both on and off the diamond. DeLeon, Nilson and Guerrera. DeLeon, Nilson, Guerrera all earn the honor for the third time while McDaniel and Gonzales earn it for a first time.
DeLeon wrapped up an amazing career with the Gators recently She finished the season with a .396 batting average, fourth highest in a single season. She helped turn half of the team's 37 double plays, tied for first in the NCAA with Sonoma State. DeLeon also earned All-CCAA First Team Honors, NFCA and D2CCA West Region First Team Honors and was named to the CCAA All-Tournament Team after leading the Gator's to their first program Championship. DeLeon led the Gators in hits (78), runs (45), tied for first in doubles (16) and second on the team in stolen bases (22). DeLeon recently graduated with a degree in Psychology.
McDaniel was one of the Gators' hottest bats late in the season and was named the CCAA Tournament MVP. She earned D2CCA West Region First Team Honors and CCAA First Team Honors as well. Her 12 home runs led the team and were the most in a single season. The second baseman's 14 home runs tied for eighth in career home runs. Daniels 37 RBIs and 39 runs ranked second on the team. Daniels graduated with a degree in Finance & Economics.
Gonzales earned All-CCAA Second Team Honors as well as a spot on the CCAA All-Tournament Team. She earns All-West Region Honors the first time in her career this past season after being named NFCA All-West Region Second Team. Gonzales batted .363 and has appeared in 59 games, including 53 behind the plate. She led the team with 31 steals. She is fourth in career stolen bases, ninth in career doubles, 11th in career triples, and 12th in runs scored. The Atwater native recently graduated with a degree in Psychology.
Guerrera was another four-year starter that recently wrapped up an amazing career. She played in 59 games and earned a spot on the CCAA All-Tournament Team. Guerrera hit .300 on the season, was the team leader in RBIs with 44 and was fourth on the team with 57 hits. She is tied for 12th in career doubles (28) and 11th in career home runs (10). Guerrera graduated with a degree in Business Finance.
Nilson teamed up with Guerrera to man the other side of the outfield. She played and started in all 59 games and batted .257 on the season. She finished with 45 hits, 25 runs and 25 RBIs. Nilson was named the CCAA Elite 13 award winner for a second straight season at the CCAA Tournament. The award recognizes the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the Championship. The Martinez native graduated with a degree in Kinesiology.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
