Kai DeLeon was named to the All-West Region First Team while teammate
Marley Gonzales was named to the All-West Region Second Team.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
DeLeon recently was named to the All-CCAA First Team aa well as the All-Tournament after leading her team to their first ever CCAA Tournament title. This is the second time she's earned All-NFCA West Region Honors, earning Second Team in 2023 as well. She's helped the Gators turn 35 double plays, which are tied for second most double plays turned in all of NCAA Division II. The Turlock native is batting a team-best .405, tied for the team lead with Gonzales with 16 doubles and leads the team with 75 hits. She currently sits in second all-time in program history with 541 assists, is fourth all-time in hits and is just one of five Gators to ever reach 200 hits, is fifth in stolen bases and runs, tied for sixth in doubles and seventh in walks.
Gonzales earned All-CCAA Second Team Honors as well as a spot on the CCAA All-Tournament Team. She earns All-West Region Honors the first time in her career. Gonzales is batting .359 and has appeared in 56 games, including 50 behind the plate. She leads the team with 31 steals. She is fourth in career stolen bases, ninth in career doubles, 11th in career triples, and 12th in runs scored.
