Daniel Murillo of the San Francisco State baseball team was named to the ABCA All-American Second Team. Murillo joins teammate
Michael Cunningham as being named an All-American as Cunningham earned All-American Honorable Mention by the NCBWA. It marks the first time since 1986 that multiple plays earned All-American Honors.
Murillo was named West Region First Team by ABCA, NCBWA and D2CCA. Murillo holds the program hit record with 93 hits. The everyday lead-off shortstop slashed .384/.457/.620 and second on the team in runs (60) and home runs (13). He also turned 34 double plays and only committed eight errors.
The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
