Kydyn Lima of the San Francisco State Wrestling team closed out the weekend at NCAA Division II Championships with a sixth place finish at 174lbs. As a team, San Francisco State finished 25th with 10.5 points.
Lima was dispatched in the semifinals by #3 seed Otgonbayar Batsuuri by tech fall. Batsuuri continued to record takedowns and added to the lead until he was declared winner with a 21-5 lead in 4:04. Lima had a rematch with Tyler Morrison of Pitt Johnson in the blood round. Up 1-0 in the third period, Morrison secured a takedown and was able to hold onto the lead to take the win. In the match for fifth place against Maxwell Kiel of Lander, Lima kept things close through the first two periods. Kiel had a couple of takedowns and Lima was only able to escape and not recorda takedown himself in a 10-3 loss.
