Kydyn Lima was named the MPSF Wrestler of the Year, marking the second straight year a wrestler from SF State earned the honor.
Johnny Lopez was the MPSF Wrestler of the Year last season.
Lima finished the season with a 16-4 record with all four losses coming from the Super Regional and Nationals. He qualified for the NCAA Championship Tournament, where he reached the semifinals and placed sixth, becoming the only All-American in the MPSF in any weight class this year. He won three-straight matches at 174 lbs. while at nationals to also become the first SFSU All-American in 15 years in his weight class. Also in the postseason, Lima became the first Gator to become a two-time MPSF Champion, repeating the 174-lb. title to earn his second-straight all-conference honor.
