SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State men's track & field team hosted the Johnny Mathis Invitational on March 21. After a heat wave impacted the Bay area throughout the week, the Gators raced in more pleasant weather on Saturday.

Aguilar started in the back of the pack in his 1500m heat but made his way to the front in the final lap and finished the hear in third with a personal best time of 4:03.53. Caleb Bouwens and Dominic Clima pushed each other in the final lap of their 1500m heat. Bouwens came out on top and ran the second fastest time of a Gator this season at 4:07.23.

Muhamad Izaan Muhamad Imtiaaz had a personal best in the steeplechase and finished with a time of 10:09.50, six seconds faster than his previous best time.

After the conclusion of the 5000m, the Gators honored senior Jesus Aguilar, Benjamin Greer, Dominic Clima and Tyler Sharp.
