Leilani Blecha of the San Francisco State women's basketball team has been named to the CSC Academic All-District® women's basketball team, as selected by
College Sports Communicators.
Blecha is a two-time CSC Academic All-District® honoree after earning the honor last season at UC Merced.
The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the pitch and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at her current institution. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played OR
must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Blecha was one of four players to play in all 28 games and made 21 starts. A strong three-point shooter, Blecha finished second on the team with 58 three-point baskets.She tied a single game record with seven three-point baskets against Cal Poly Pomona on Jan 2. Blecha was third on the team in points with 220 and also added 49 rebounds, 35 assists and 27 steals.
