San Francisco State Athletics Hall of Famer Ronnie Schell passed away on June, 12 2026 at the age of 94.
Born Ronald Ralph Schell in Richmond, California, on Dec. 23, 1931, he joined the U.S. Air Force out of high school and served four years. He got into entertaining in the military and later at San Francisco State University.
The former actor and comedian played an instrumental role in raising money for the Athletic Department through the organizing of the "Veterans of Comedy Wars" benefit comedy show.
Schell graduated from SF State in 1958. He was inducted in the San Francisco State University Hall of Fame in 1995 and the SF State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002.
