PRIOR TO SF STATE:  Signed with the Gators out of Cerritos College … Placed fifth in the 125-pound weight class at the 2009 California Community College Championships … Graduated in 2007 from Cerritos High School, where he was a three-time most valuable wrestler award recipient … Posted a 42-7 record as a senior, capturing the Suburban League title at 119 pounds, followed by a fifth-place finish at the CIF Southern Section-Coastal meet and a seventh-place performance at the Master’s tournament … Also played football as a prep.

PERSONAL: Son of David and Marie Yu … Has one brother, Paul … Enjoys watching comedy shows … Majoring in botany.
