2011-12:  Pinned three opponents in his first appearance as a Gator at the Menlo Invitational (Nov. 19) … Cracked the starting lineup at 197 pounds over the final eight dual meets of the regular season, filling in for an injured Andrew Reggi … Also competed at the California Collegiate Open (Feb. 4) and the NCAA Division II Super Region 4/RMAC Championships (Feb. 25) … Topped the squad with 40 escapes … Landed on the SF State Athletics Dean’s List for both the fall and spring semesters.

PRIOR TO SF STATE:  Transferred to SF State from Willamette University in Salem, Ore., where he played as a defensive lineman for the Bearcat football team in 2010 … Was a two-sport star in wrestling and football as a prep at Escalon High School … Earned all-Trans-Valley League honors on the mat and qualified for the state meet … Placed sixth at the Reno Tournament of Champions and seventh at the Sierra Nevada Classic … Was named the TVL's defensive player of the year on the gridiron and received all-Sac-Joaquin Section honors.
