2011-12: Compiled a 4-0 mark to capture the individual championship in the 141-pound weight class at the Menlo Invitational (Nov. 19) … Opened the tournament with a victory by fall over Grand Canyon’s Ricky Ryan, followed by a 7-2 decision over Matt Kennedy of Oklahoma City in the second round … Added a pin against Menlo’s Christian Franks in semifinals before earning a 13-3 major decision against Bradford Gerl of Cal Baptist to secure the title … Also competed in the 149-pound division at the California Collegiate Open (Feb. 4) and earned two starts at 157 in dual meets vs. Cal Baptist (Dec. 10) and Menlo (Feb. 8).

PRIOR TO SF STATE: Transferred to SF State from the University of Wyoming … Competed in five tournaments for the Cowboys during the 2010-11 campaign, finishing with a 14-10 record … Placed fourth in the 141-pound weight class at the Nebraska-Kearney Loper Open … Originally signed with UC Davis in 2009, but made the move to Laramie after the Aggies dropped wrestling … Graduated from Poway High School where he competed on the CIF state championship team as a senior … Compiled a 72-12 varsity record as a prep, including a runner-up finish in the 135-lb. division at the 2009 state meet … Garnered first-team all-CIF San Diego Section and all-Palomar League accolades … Captured the state title at the 2009 junior freestyle tournament and received All-America honors after an eighth-place performance at nationals.
